David Wilbanks

Graphic Designer

How did you get here?

One of my friends was the web developer here at SMS. We met years ago, before he even knew for sure what he wanted to do with his life. When he got his position here he couldn't stop talking about how awesome everyone was and how he loved working here. I lived near Jonesboro, AR, working as a freelance starving artist and full-time as a grocery store manager. I was looking to make a change. When my friend told me SMS was looking for a graphics artist, I jumped at the chance. I applied, they offered the job, I accepted, and here I am. I am thankful everyday for the opportunities that SMS has offered me and I look forward to continuing to grow personally and professionally and helping SMS and its employees do the same.

What is your favorite part of working at SMS?

My favorite part of working at SMS is the people, the atmosphere, and the opportunity to take 15 years experience in design and help SMS put its best face forward.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to play video games, watch movies, and spend time with my daughters.

What can you help agents with?

I help you, the agent, with maintaining our Agent Marketing Portfolio program, creating new and exciting marketing materials for you to use in your career. I also handle most of the emails and print media that you see SMS doing as well as, according to Dan, acting as the gatekeeper for our brand and corporate identity. We have so many cool things coming down the pipe for you here at SMS and I can't wait for all of you to see the great things we have planned.

What should your job title be?

My impromptu self-assigned job title is “Pretentious Art Monkey"
